Leeds United take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday and there has been a hint that a talented youngster could be involved.

It’s been a promising start to the Premier League campaign for Leeds United, who have renewed hope they can survive in the top flight with a string of strong performances.

Daniel Farke’s side have allowed three precious points to slip through their fingers already with agonising late goals, but have competed well with every side they’ve faced so far – other than title contenders Arsenal.

Fellow North Londoners Tottenham Hotspur are next up on Saturday, with Thomas Frank’s side heading to Elland Road for the day’s early kick-off.

Though Spurs have looked bright under their new manager, they could only draw with Wolves last time out and have only beaten League One’s Doncaster Rovers in their last four fixtures.

Leeds have a real chance to register a statement victory, but with injuries mounting, there is a chance youngster Rhys Chadwick could be involved.

Scott Gardner’s Under-21s side was in action on Friday afternoon, as they took on their West Brom counterparts in a league fixture.

Goalkeeper Rory Mahady was in goal after his impressive loan game at Scunthorpe United this week, as were Alfie Cressell and veteran Jonny Howson.

Conspicuous by his absence, though, was talented midfielder Chadwick, whose lack of involvement could suggest he is in Farke’s first-team plans for the Tottenham fixture.

Chadwick was called up to senior training this week ahead of the game and could be in contention to make his competitive debut for the club.

Farke has been impressed with the teenager, who travelled with his side for the pre-season training camp in Germany and has been involved in several training sessions. He even came on off the bench in the pre-season draw with Manchester United in Sweden

Daniel Farke is already feeling the strain of injuries in the Premier League

The Premier League truly is one battle after another and Farke is already feeling the strain of injuries.

Leeds have lost seven players to injury already this season, a figure that could soon rise to eight as Chadwick’s academy teammate, Harry Gray, is a doubt for Saturday.

It would be a real shame for Gray to miss the match, given it’ll be brother Archie Gray’s return to Elland Road.

Though Lucas Perri is back in training, he is still unavailable, while forward duo Willy Gnonto and Dan James will miss the match, too.

So many injuries have opened the door for Chadwick to be involved, but his position of midfield is one of the few areas where Leeds are fully stocked. As a result, it’s unlikely he will get on the pitch, if he is even named on the bench.
