After a run of one win in eight games Leeds United have fallen below today’s opponents, Tottenham Hotspur, who will be looking for a fourth successive league victory at Elland Road (kick-off, 12.30pm).

Leeds are unbeaten in nine home matches since March, but the visitors are riding the crest of a wave at the moment, and I think their winning run will continue.

Find my three best bets for this afternoon’s Premier League fixture below, along with analysis.

Spurs can land fourth straight victory

Leeds’ start to the Premier League season can be described as solid, but certainly not spectacular.

Daniel Farke’s side have won once in nine matches in all competitions, and their 2-0 reverse against Bournemouth last Saturday means they have been shut out three times in five games.

Their 6-3 EFL Cup loss to Chelsea is the only time in which they have scored more than once in a game during that run.

The Whites have not enjoyed recent visits from Tottenham Hotspur, who have won three on the bounce at Elland Road. Spurs have also turned the corner in recent weeks, winning three straight matches to move into the top half of the table.

That is as many games as they had previously won in the whole of 2026, a quite remarkable statistic.

There had been positive signs for Spurs under Roberto De Zerbi before this run began, so it is not entirely unexpected. They have rediscovered the winning feeling, which they will be desperate to hold on to, especially with a favourable fixture list on the horizon.

I think the visitors are a good price at 7/4 to secure a fourth straight victory. Leeds’ home record is impressive – they are on a nine-game unbeaten run – but they have been particularly uninspiring of late, struggling to score goals.

The fact that Jan Paul van Hecke is Spurs’ top scorer with two goals shows they have not found it easy either, but they have created plenty of chances and dominated games.

In my opinion, Tottenham will have just enough to see off Leeds and there could be some frustration brewing among the Elland Road faithful afterwards.

Visitors can turn corners into a win

Tottenham’s dominance in their matches so far this season can be illustrated by two main statistics.

Only Manchester City (64 per cent) have had a higher share of the ball than their 63 per cent, while De Zerbi’s side have taken 71 corners, 15 more than their closest rivals, Fulham.

No team have faced fewer than the 35 corners taken against Spurs, so it is not the case that they are simply involved in end-to-end games with plenty of chances for both sides.

Despite their corner dominance so far, punters can back Tottenham to take the most corners at even money, which is quite an astonishing price.

Leeds have taken only 37 corners in the Premier League this term, leaving them level in 14th with Hull City.

I cannot work out why this bet is the price it is. Spurs have had almost double the number of corners Leeds have managed this season, and the even money available should be snapped up.

Back cards in this 3/1 bet builder

My final selection for this game is a four-leg bet builder. If each pick wins, it will pay out at 3/1 with Betfred.

John Brooks is today’s referee. He has been incredibly card-happy in the opening few months of the campaign, awarding 4.67 yellows per game, which is up from his overall average of 3.8. Brooks has also brandished four red cards, including one for Newcastle United’s Jacob Ramsey on Monday night.

In five of his six top-flight appointments this season, Brooks has awarded at least two bookings to each team. Spurs (13.2) and Leeds (13.1) are both in the top six for the most fouls conceded per game, so I am backing each team to receive over 1.5 cards.

No Leeds player has conceded more fouls than Ethan Ampadu, who has been penalised 18 times in his team’s first nine matches. With Tottenham set to dominate possession, he could be forced into risky tackles, so he looks a good bet to continue his average of two fouls per match.

The return of Mohammed Kudus from injury has been a big boost for the visitors. The Ghanaian has been fouled 10 times in his last five matches and leads his side with 14 fouls won in the Premier League. As Leeds are penalised regularly, I will make Kudus to be fouled at least twice my final pick.
