We look ahead to this Premier League match at Elland Road with our Leeds United vs Tottenham Hotspur prediction and preview. Can the hosts end their five-game winless streak against a Spurs side in top form?
Leeds United vs Tottenham: The Key Stats
The Opta supercomputer pits Leeds as marginal favourites in their quest to get back to winning ways. They beat Spurs in 41.7% of its 10,000 pre-match simulations.
Leeds are unbeaten in their last eight Premier League home games, their longest run in the top-flight since a 15-game streak between January and December 2001.
Tottenham have won four of their last five Premier League meetings with Leeds at Elland Road, including the last three in a row.
Two sides at contrasting ends of the Premier League form table come together on Saturday as Leeds United host Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road, looking to win their first game in six against a Spurs side who’ve racked up three victories in a row.
Leeds’ superb start to the season saw them win two and draw two – including a 4–1 hammering of Newcastle – to go third in the table, but Daniel Farke’s side haven’t picked up a victory since.
Draws with Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Sunderland either side of a 2–1 loss at Arsenal has seen the Whites stumble, compounded by their 2–0 defeat to Bournemouth last time out.
Goals from Evanilson and Amine Adli – both coming directly from Leeds errors – extended their winless run to five, and they come into this game sat twelfth, a point and four places below Tottenham.
Leeds had begun brightly on the south coast and seemingly scored first through Dominic Calvert-Lewin, only for his bundled-in effort to be disallowed for handball following a VAR review.
Calvert-Lewin has applied more high-intensity pressures in the opposition penalty area than any other Premier League player this season (118), but Leeds’ number nine was starved of service in the box after that decision.
From then on, Farke’s side produced little of note in the final third and weren’t helped by James Trafford sending a pass straight to Evanilson, who pounced, before Sean Longstaff was also dispossessed in the build-up to Bournemouth’s second.
Adli’s goal in second-half stoppage time also means Leeds have now conceded three times to opposition substitutes in the Premier League this season, more than any other team.
That will provide plenty of food for thought for both Farke and Roberto De Zerbi, whose Tottenham side have well and truly got their mojo back after three straight wins over Coventry, Chelsea and Crystal Palace last time out.
Back-to-back 2–0 victories in consecutive London derbies have sent Spurs up to eighth in the table, withMohammed Kudus setting up Archie Gray andJan Paul van Hecke to score in each half, after Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta was dismissed early on.
Centre-back Van Hecke – who made the FotMob Premier League Team of the Month – is now Tottenham’s top scorer in the league, albeit with just two goals, but their early-season struggles and six-match winless streak to open the campaign is now firmly in the rear-view mirror.
After failing to net in any of their first four, the goals are coming thick and fast for Spurs, whose 34 shots against Palace was the highest total by any team in a Premier League game this season, and their best tally in a single match since facing Swansea in February 2016.
Tottenham’s turnaround in form has seen them win three consecutive Premier League games for the first time since February 2025, picking up as many victories as they’d managed across their previous 26 matches combined.
Spurs last won four league games in a row in September/October 2023, and after collecting clean sheets against Chelsea and Palace, could win three in a row without conceding for the first time since May 2022 against a Leeds side struggling in front of goal.
Since their 4–1 win over Newcastle in September, Leeds have scored the joint-fewest goals in the Premier League, with two, and have the second-lowest xG both overall (4.96) and in open play (2.61) in that time, as well as the worst final-third passing accuracy (58.4%).
Leeds could still be missing key players at both ends of the pitch on Saturday, with ex-Spurs defender Joe Rodon – still working his way back to full fitness – joined in the treatment room by full-backs James Justin and Gabriel Gudmundsson after knocks.
Like Rodon, Justin and Gudmundsson, forward Noah Okafor also faces a late fitness test on the adductor injury that kept him out against Bournemouth.
Tottenham will be without Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert, Savio and Mikhailo Mudryk, who are long-term absentees, but Rodrigo Bentancur is back in the fold following his suspension for a red card against Manchester United.
Tosin Adarabioyo andLucas Bergvall could also return for Saturday’s match, with Roberto De Zerbi stating the pair are in contention to feature before the international break.
Leeds United vs Tottenham Head-to-Head
Leeds have collected just five points across their last 13 Premier League matches against Tottenham, losing 10 times, and haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last 16 meetings with Spurs.
The Lilywhites picked up four points from last season’s fixtures, winning 2–1 in West Yorkshire last October before a 1–1 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in May, with Mathys Tel scoring in both games.
Tel’s first-half strike at Elland Road was cancelled out by Okafor nine minutes later, only for Kudus to curl home Spurs’ winner early in the second period. Calvert-Lewin’s equaliser from the penalty spot secured a point for Leeds in north London, 24 minutes after Tel’s opener.
Leeds United vs Tottenham Prediction
Despite their dire run of form coming into this game, the Opta supercomputer expects Leeds to return to winning ways against Tottenham, and end the visitors’ own streak of victories.
Across 10,000 pre-match simulations, Leeds came out on top in 41.7% of the results, implying that home advantage could prove crucial for them in Saturday’s clash at Elland Road.
Tottenham aren’t too far behind on a 31.6% chance of victory and will be full of confidence after three straight wins, with a draw given a probability rating of 26.7%.
