Tottenham are expected to have a busy summer transfer window after avoiding relegation.
Tottenham Hotspur dealt West Ham United a hammer blow on Sunday afternoon after beating Everton 1-0 at home to secure their Premier League status. By doing so, Spurs relegated their London rivals from the Premier League.
Now, the Lilywhites’ entire focus will turn towards the upcoming summer transfer window. A few high-profile players will likely leave the club following a lack of European football next season, but that also means the board will bring in fresh faces to N17. Spurs must strengthen their squad and provide Roberto De Zerbi with the tools to revive their fortunes after narrowly avoiding relegation, so fans will hope for some exciting additions over the next couple of months.
Tottenham could now hand West Ham another big setback in the summer transfer window after sending them down to the Championship. The Hammers’ relegation on the final day of the campaign opens the door for the North Londoners to raid them for the second summer running.
Tottenham-linked Jarrod Bowen drops future hint after West Ham’s relegation
Spurs are a host of Premier League clubs who have been linked with a move for West Ham skipper Jarrod Bowen.
The 23 G/A star found himself on the scoresheet in the 3-0 home win over Leeds United. The England international was one of West Ham’s standout performers in an otherwise torrid campaign that ended in tears for their fans. And with the Hammers failing to preserve their top-flight status, the future of Jarrod Bowen has become a topic of debate.
While Bowen insisted on getting West Ham back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, he did not really commit his future at the London Stadium.
“I’m under contract here. There’s going to be rumours, there’s going to be talk, but ultimately what I see is getting this club back in the Premier League, because that’s where they deserve to be,” Bowen said in an interview with Sky Sports.
“You never know what the future holds, but I want to see this club back in the Premier League.”
Bowen would be a fantastic addition to Tottenham’s ranks
Tottenham have a long-standing interest in Bowen, who has been a consistent performer for West Ham since arriving from Hull City in 2020. With the England international’s future up in the air following the Hammers’ demotion, Spurs must test their London counterparts’ resolve in the summer.
The 29-year-old will bring plenty of Premier League experience and leadership skills to the Lilywhites after captaining West Ham for several seasons. Bowen is at the peak of his powers and would enhance Tottenham’s attacking ranks straightaway. Given his versatility to operate anywhere across the frontline, De Zerbi would be able to utilise the ex-Hull City man’s strengths as per the requirement.
Having signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham last summer, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Hotspur Way chiefs knocked on our London adversary’s door for Bowen this time around.
