Clyne, Lerma missing for Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace host Aston Villa on Wednesday night looking for a first win in five league games.

Nathaniel Clyne misses out with minor abductor injury picked up in Sunday’s defeat at Newcastle. Jefferson Lerma is also unavailable because of the concussion protocol, but defender Chris Richards should return to the squad.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Sky Sports' digital coverage of Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa!

Oliver Glasner's side are looking to snap a run of seven games without a win across all competitions - and we all know they like playing Villa.

The Eagles have won five of their last meetings against Villa and will be hoping to be a thorn in the side of Unai Emery's side once again tonight.

Villa got back to winning ways against Nottingham Forest last time out, following an emphatic defeat to Arsenal and will need a win today if they are to keep Mikel Arteta's side within touching distance at the top of the table.

Both teams are desperate for the win - let's see which way this one swings!

Stay tuned for team news, live updates, in-game clips and FREE match highlights shortly after full-time.

Glasner unfazed by Man Utd links

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner will not lose any sleep over being installed as one of the favourites for the Manchester United job.

The highly-rated Austrian is among the front-runners tipped to take over at Old Trafford as the club’s next permanent boss, following Ruben Amorim’s departure on Monday morning.

“In my (Palace) contract, (is) one paragraph, I tell you, (that) I am not allowed to bet, and I don’t look at it (the odds),” Glasner said. “I cannot also give insider information, because then I am also breaking my contract.

“I am Crystal Palace manager and I just think it makes no sense, and is also wasted time for you to ask me any more questions, so I don’t talk about any other club than Crystal Palace.”

Glasner added: “You can sign a new contract, like managers did in the Premier League this year, and (now) they aren’t the manager there any more. Even if I sign a new contract, you could ask me every day, ‘What is the future?’

“There is one situation which keeps you in your job when you are a manager – and this is being successful. It is the only thing to survive (in) this job.”

Double injury boost for Villa but Emery wary of Palace

Aston Villa have been handed a defensive boost ahead of Wednesday's game at Crystal Palace.

Centre-backs Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings are back in full training after stints on the sidelines through injury.

However, Ross Barkley and Amadou Onana remain on the treatment table and Evann Guessand is on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Villa have won nine of their last 10 Premier League games but will be wary travelling to Selhurst Park, with the Eagles having become a bogey team in recent years.

Palace have won five of their last six meetings between the sides, including last season's FA Cup semi-final and the reverse fixture earlier this season.

"It's the team that's always performing very well against us," boss Unai Emery said at a press conference.

"Last year, they got the trophy, and their structure is really strong. Their tactical shape is fantastic - how they are performing, how they are feeling confident and comfortable to play against every team.

"Against us, they have performed fantastic, and they beat us. It's a challenge. We are in good form but we know the difficulties."

Tielemans: Always a message in the pass

Sky Sports' Adam Bate:

"Had the chance to visit Aston Villa's training ground to speak to Youri Tielemans about his game and how Unai Emery has improved it.

"Such a class player so it was interesting to hear more about the level of detail that goes into his passing and positioning. One of my favourite players to watch in the Premier League."
