Everton remain without key players
While Everton's defeat to Brentford on Sunday came as something of a surprise, there's an argument the defeat had been coming as David Moyes manages a severely depleted squad.
Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gueye remain away with Senegal as they prepare for an Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final against Mali on Friday.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Jarrad Branthwaite all remain out, while Carlos Alcaraz is also a doubt having missed the last two games with injury.
Moyes paired forwards Thierno Barry and Beto in the second half against Brentford, and could be tempted to do so again after both found the net.

Edwards: There has been a bounce after first PL win
Wolves boss Rob Edwards has seen a âbounceâ around the club after they finally celebrated their first win of the season.
Wolves ended a record-worst start to the campaign when they beat West Ham 3-0 in the Premier League on Saturday, which came days after a 1-1 draw at Manchester United.
âWhat weâve seen in the last couple of weeks is more belief,â Edwards said at a press conference.
âWeâve seen that more in training as well. Thereâs been a better quality. Thereâs been more of a bounce around because people can see a little bit more progression.
âThe lads can feel that as well. So, that certainly helped around the place and the environment.
âBut itâs been business as usual. It was a really good day for us and we needed it. The club needed it. The supporters needed it more than anyone else, but we just crack on and keep working hard.â
Moyes: Incomings this month more unlikely than likely
Everton manager David Moyes admitted transfer reinforcements are âunlikelyâ this month as the club stick to their long-term plan under owners The Friedkin Group.
With Seamus Coleman, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Charly Alcaraz and Jarrad Branthwaite injured, and Idrissa Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye at the Africa Cup of Nations, Moyes has been struggling for numbers and last week recalled midfielder Harrison Armstrong from a loan spell at Preston.
But the Toffees boss, who has not totally ruled out January signings, has accepted the risk of not bolstering the squad is something they can manage before looking to address the situation in the summer.
âWe are are probably more unlikely than likely, but I wouldnât say that completely as we looking out there to see what here is,â said the Scot, who will not have any players back for Wednesdayâs clash with Wolves.
âIn the main, weâve been able to cope with it quite well. My feeling is we might have to cope again.
âWe have got a small squad, we knew that at the start, and the boys going away to AFCON make it look (worse), but itâs the same for a lot of clubs.
âBut when your squad is relatively tight, it starts to have an effect and before you know it you look as if you are pretty threadbare.
âI think our ownership wants us to be clean and tidy. If we donât get anyone in, we will stick to the plan and keep building.
âWe had a decent build in the summer, which moved us up, and I think the jumps in improvement will come more gradually rather than be big deals really.â
