What needs to happen for Brentford to qualify for Europe

Brentford must finish eighth to have any chance of qualifying for Europe for the first time.

To do so, they need to win here and hope Brighton lose at Tottenham.

If the Bees manage to finish eighth there are two scenarios that would ensure they are playing in the UEFA Conference League.

If Chelsea win the Conference League and finish seventh or Chelsea finish sixth and Newcastle seventh.

Which Premier League teams will qualify for the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League?

Early Wolves team news

Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen is a doubt for their final day game at home to Brentford.

The frontman - who has seven goals in his last eight games - was forced off against Crystal Palace and could be replaced in the XI by Matheus Cunha, who is wanted by Man Utd.

Tommy Doyle and Sam Johnstone are definitely out of Sunday's game.

Early Brentford team news

Brentford full-back Aaron Hickey could return after more than a year out with a hamstring injury.

Michael Kayode is a doubt after suffering a tight hamstring in last week's defeat at Fulham, which forced him off.

Brentford midfielder Vitaly Janelt is out until next season after undergoing surgery on his heel.

Strand Larsen facing late fitness test before Brentford

Hickey to be involved on final day

Thomas Frank has confirmed Aaron Hickey will be part of the Brentford squad for Sunday's final-day trip to Wolves.

The full-back, 22, has been plagued by a hamstring injury for more than 18 months, with his last first team appearance for the Bees in a 2-0 win over Chelsea on October 28 2023.

Hickey has been involved with the club's B Team, however, and scored the goal below in a 6-1 win over Tottenham in the Robert Rowan Invitational earlier this week.

"Aaron Hickey will be involved in the squad on Sunday," said Frank in his press conference on Friday.

"[I'm] very pleased for him. He’s worked very hard and this is a little bonus before he goes into the summer"
