Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are set to clash in the transfer market as they compete to sign one top Premier League player.
With just over two weeks left until the transfer window officially closes on September 1, several of the top clubs in the Premier League are still working to finalise deals for new signings.
Most notably, Liverpool are hoping to secure a late deal for top target Alexander Isak while Spurs look to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, despite the midfielder initially being linked to London rivals Arsenal.
Meanwhile Manchester United are considering their next move after seemingly missing out on Brighton's Carlos Baleba, despite being willing to offer up to £100million for the Cameroon international.
But it now appears that United have identified their next target, but they will not be alone in their pursuit of the Premier League star, as Liverpool and Spurs are also expected to rival their interest.
According to a report from The Daily Mail, all three Premier League giants have identified Brentford captain Nathan Collins as their next transfer target.
For Liverpool, a deal for Collins could make sense as they look to reinforce their options at centre-back amid rumours that star defender Ibrahima Konate could leave either this summer or next.
Young defender Giovanni Leoni joined the Reds from Serie A side Parma earlier this week for a reported fee of £26m, while Liverpool continue to work on a potential deal for Palace centre back Marc Guehi.
United are also keen on adding another defender to their squad having already raided the Bees for star winger Bryan Mbeumo.
However, any additional business at Old Trafford will be determined by the potential sales of players like Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho.
Meanwhile, Spurs manager Thomas Frank, who joined the club from Brentford in June, is said to be eager to bring in defensive reinforcements, with Collins his top target after the pair worked together at Frank's former club.
However, having already sold former captain Crsitian Norgaard and Mbeumo this summer, with an additional sale of striker Yoane Wissa expected to come before the window closes, it is believed that Brentford have no need to cash in on Collins.
Instead, it would be the Bees preference to hold on to their new captain for the upcoming season meaning they will likely reject any formal offers for the Irishman.
