Liverpool will be looking to climb the table today when they face struggling Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield

Liverpool will take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at Anfield with the two clubs also potentially set to cross paths on the transfer front. Arne Slot will be targeting a return to form for his side after they lost 1-0 to Galatasaray in the Champions League round of 16 first leg on Tuesday.

Points are priceless for either side: beleaguered Spurs boss Igor Tudor is yet to win since joining the club, with the Lilywhites flirting with relegation, while the Reds are looking to secure a place in the top four this season.

A subplot could also be brewing between the two over the transfer of a Liverpool icon, with talks potentially being held when they meet on Merseyside. Elsewhere, the Reds have been linked with a summer swoop for an international star. Mirror Football takes a closer look.

Transfer talks

Spurs are reportedly still eager to sign Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson. The Scottish star reportedly turned down the chance to swap Anfield for north London in January but talks could be resumed on Sunday with the two clubs doing battle at Anfield.

Should Spurs remain in the Premier League this season, rumours suggest they are hopeful of being able to tempt the defensive veteran to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer. There's no doubt officials from both sides will be at the game on Sunday where terms of a transfer could be thrashed out.

The 31-year-old Robertson is in the final few months of his contract with the Reds but could remain on Merseyside if he accepts another bit-part role under Arne Slot next season. The left-back is a two-time Premier League champion and Champions League winner and Spurs will no doubt want a player who possesses a wealth of experience winning the game's biggest trophies.

Speaking after Liverpool's 3-1 win over Wolves in the FA Cup earlier this month, Robertson opened up on his future. He said: "There was obviously interest there - there were discussions had with both sets of clubs. But the decision was that I wanted to stay. We stayed at Liverpool and that was the decision made."

He concluded: "When a decision is made, and we're getting to the point where I only have three months left on my contract, it will be announced to you guys."

Reds eye £43m option

According to Spanish publication Marca, Real Madrid could be tempted to offload Eduardo Camavinga for around £43million this summer.

Camavinga has been at Madrid since 2021, when he joined Los Blancos from Rennes. He is contracted to the Bernabeu until 2029 but a planned squad revamp in the Spanish capital this summer could see the French star depart.

Liverpool have been linked with Camavinga for some time. The 23-year-old was believed to have been watched closely by the club’s recruitment team during his breakthrough at Stade Rennais between 2019 and 2021.

Camavinga is a holding midfielder but can also play left-back and as a winger, making his versatility a major attraction for the Reds. Liverpool could be in the market for midfield reinforcements this summer with questions lingering over the futures of Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo.
