Liverpool vs Spurs: Will the VAR be in operation? Could there be extra-time?

There will not be a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in operation for the game at Anfield. In the Carabao Cup, the VAR generally only comes into operation from the semi-finals onwards.

If the game finishes level after 90 minutes, there will be no extra time. We will instead proceed directly to a penalty shootout to decide the game.

The referee for the game is Andrew Madley.

Wade Smith and Richard West will be his assistants, with Andrew Kitchen as the fourth official.

If we are successful against the Reds, the draw for the fourth round will take place on Wednesday 16 September after Manchester United's third round tie with Brighton.
