Maghnes Akliouche: Tottenham being ‘kept informed’ as Monaco exit talk increases
Maghnes Akliouche is edging closer to a move away from Monaco amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 24-year-old has been selected as part of the France squad ahead of the World Cup and scouts are set to keep a close eye on him at the tournament.
Tottenham have been long-term admirers of the midfielder, while he is also attracting interest from their Premier League rivals and top clubs across Europe.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Spurs have asked to be kept informed on Akliouche’s situation if he is allowed to leave Monaco.
The Lilywhites are keen to land the France international as they hope to act on their long-term interest, although any deal may be difficult as Spurs step up their transfer plans.

Could Tottenham agree a deal to sign Maghnes Akliouche?
Football Insider exclusively revealed earlier this year that Tottenham saw a move for Akliouche blocked in January as Monaco made clear they would not sell.
However, their stance is expected to change when the summer transfer window opened, as the Ligue 1 club are prepared to sell and raise funds from his exit.
Tottenham remain hopeful of getting a deal over the line, although they will face competition and any deal will depend on their Premier League status.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Maghnes Akliouche is obviously a player who’s been on their radar for a long time.
“Tottenham will be keeping tabs on him and they are looking to be kept informed on his future.
“Monaco are well aware of the growing interest in him and probably would sell at the right price.
“For Tottenham, I’m sure they’ll be looking to be in that race for him.
“But I think it’ll be difficult for them just due to that lack of European football and because of the probably rival interest from other clubs.”
Who else is in the race to sign Akliouche?
Tottenham are far from the only club interested in signing Akliouche this summer, as a number of clubs are believed to be keeping a close eye on his situation.
The attacking midfielder’s performances for Monaco have attracted suitors from across Europe, and if Monaco are prepared to accept offers, he will be in high demand.
Football Insider revealed last month that Man United are interested in signing Akliouche after their Champions League qualification was confirmed.
Michael Carrick is keen to add to his squad should he land the permanent role as expected, and a number of options are already being assessed.
Monaco could be prepared to accept offers of around £40million, placing a number of clubs on alert as the fee is seen as affordable ahead of the window opening.
