Micky van de Ven looks as though he’ll be fit to feature in Tottenham Hotspur’s away clash at Old Trafford this weekend.

Spurs travel up north to take on Manchester United in a 5.30pm kick-off on Saturday evening.

What happened to Van de Ven?

The London outfit are seeking their first win of the campaign, having also only scored for the first time in their fifth league outing of 2026/2027 when hosting Aston Villa.

Tottenham slumped to a 3-2 defeat on home soil, leaving them 20th-placed and on just two points after their opening five games.

Roberto De Zerbi will have spent the best part of the week sweating over whether Van de Ven and his compatriot, Jan Paul van Hecke, would be available for the return of club action.

Van de Ven was withdrawn in the dying embers of the Netherlands’ 2-1 win over Serbia last Sunday after Luka Jovic fell on his left arm following a collision, while Van Hecke had to leave his nation’s camp prematurely with a foot injury.

Van de Ven resumes club training as normal despite injury scare

Now, it’s been confirmed in the lead-up to the encounter that the Tottenham captain has been training as usual, meaning he is in line to retain his starting spot.

There has yet to be any further update on Van Hecke, so fans of both sides will be keeping an eye out for when De Zerbi addresses the press.

Meanwhile, Michael Carrick is navigating injury concerns of his own, with Benjamin Sesko still seemingly a doubt after he missed the draw with Fulham.

In addition, both Patrick Dorgu and Noussair Mazraoui appeared to suffer issues while on international duty.
