Tottenham has hired the Altius8 agency, comprised of former Man United executives, to boost the club's revenue.
Tottenham fans are slowly getting used to this new side of their club. Over the last few weeks, Spurs have had a fierce edge, an "act now and deal with the repurcussions later" approach.
Sure, this has the risk of non-ideal legal battles (we're looking at you, Forest). However, no matter which way you look at it: It's encouraging to see that Daniel Levy is taking steps towards Spurs being taken more seriously.
After beating Man United in the Europa League final, Spurs could now rub further salt into the Red Devils' wounds.
Tottenham has hired Altius8
According to a report from Sam Wallace of The Telegraph, Spurs have hired Altius8 agency, formed by former Man United commercial star Victoria Timpson. Timpson and her team were pivotal in securing commercial shirt deals for Man United, including TeamViewer and SnapDragon.
Timpson left Man United last summer after 16 years, succeeded by Florence Lafaye, who also forms a key part of Altius8.
The duo are joined by Ali Edge, who has a Man United tenure of 29 years, that not even Sir Alex Ferguson could boast. Timpson, Lafaye and Edge will join with Tom Liston-Jones, another former Man United executive, to help Tottenham transform their club revenue.
Daniel Levy runs more salt into Man United's wounds
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has famously been proactive with his cost-cutting strategies at Man United. While it has left the fanbase divided, there's no denying that Man United will be spending less money going forward after his decision-making.
Ratcliffe left no room for sentimentality, and even people who has been at the club for decades were not safe.
Still, Ratcliffe's cutthroat decision-making could be Tottenham's decision-making here. While Man United can be criticised for many things in recent history, their branding and commercial partnerships can't be one. In fact, it was one of the areas which made Man United a recognised brand, even despite their poor performances on the pitch.
If Tottenham can benefit from this, then Daniel Levy did the right thing by hiring this experienced group.
