After the long international break, Manchester United will resume their campaign with a crucial contest against Spurs, and their lineup could be set for significant adjustments.
Having only collected five points from as many Premier League games, the Red Devils will be desperate for a win. And yet, Tottenham are in an even more miserable situation, as they lie rock bottom with only two points in the bag.
The match will take place at Old Trafford on Saturday, and it kicks off at 17:30 UK time.
Expected Man United lineup against Spurs: Baleba to make his full debut?
In his pre-match press conference, Carrick confirmed United will be without Patrick Dorgu and Noussair Mazraoui, who picked up knocks during the international break, as well as Benjamin Sesko, who suffered a new injury setback.
On the contrary, there were positive updates regarding Kobbie Mainoo, Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo, and Carlos Baleba.
But among the four, only Baleba took part in the behind-closed-doors friendly against Lausanne-Sport last week.
Therefore, the Cameroonian could make his long-awaited Man Utd debut as a starter, linking up with Youri Tielemans in the double pivot, while Mainoo could be fit only for a second-half cameo.
Leny Yoro & Shea Lacey to make their first EPL starts of the season?
At the back, Lisandro Martinez’s late return from South America could give Carrick pause. Although the Argentine is vital to the manager’s plans, he might prefer to entrust Leny Yoro with a starting role after his exploits on his senior France debut against Belgium and the plaudits he received from Zinedine Zidane.
In this case, the 20-year-old would join Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, and Luke Shaw in the four-man defence in front of Senne Lammens.
🚨🗣️ Zinedine Zidane praises Leny Yoro's performance against Belgium:
🗣️"I know a talented player when I see one, I wasn't really surprised by his performance but, what a player, if I am to award the man of this match, it will be Leny, he deserves it for sure"

With Rashford’s availability in doubt, Matheus Cunha should return to his original role on the left wing, with Bryan Mbeumo leading the line, supported by Bruno Fernandes.
Despite Amad’s expected return to the squad, he’s unlikely to be handed a starting role straight away. Instead, Carrick could resort to Shea Lacey, who impressed when given a starting berth in the Carabao Cup defeat to Brighton before the break.
