Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bounce back from their UEFA Super Cup disappointment by strengthening their squad ahead of the new Premier League season. Spurs were denied a second European trophy on Wednesday after suffering a penalty shootout defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite leading 2-0 with just minutes remaining, they conceded two late goals, with the Champions League victors ultimately triumphing from the spot. With no time to dwell and their league campaign kicking off at home against Burnley on Saturday, there's plenty more work to be done to bolster Thomas Frank's team.

Although seven new faces have arrived this summer, Mohammed Kudus is the only newcomer both signed this summer and expected to play a significant part in Spurs' season. The club's pursuit of Eberechi Eze and Savinho has been widely reported as they aim to build on last season's Europa League success and instil a winning mentality in N17. Here, we delve deeper into some of the potential transfers Spurs could secure with just weeks left of the transfer window and what a dream scenario could look like...
Spurs should go all out for Savinho
Spurs have been embroiled in talks with Manchester City over Savinho, who had a lacklustre debut season for the Citizens last term. The Brazilian netted just one league goal but ended the season, following the Club World Cup, with 16 goal contributions in 48 matches, 13 of which were assists, reports Football London.
The exit of Son Heung-min and serious injuries to James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, which could sideline them both for the majority of the season, have left Frank's team somewhat lacking in the wide positions.
Talks of a £43m deal for the 21-year-old were reported, but according to recent claims, it would take a record-breaking fee for Spurs to lure the Brazilian away from Pep Guardiola's squad. Journalist Jorge Nicola reports that Spurs have been in discussions with Savinho's agent, who indicated that a £67m offer would be sufficient to persuade Man City to let him go. If Spurs want to compete for the European places this season, signing Savinho would be a wise move.
Eze is worth the record transfer fee
Spurs' interest in Eze this summer is well-known, and the latest update on the transfer saga suggests the club are preparing to make an official bid for the Crystal Palace star. Fresh from securing the Community Shield following the Eagles' triumph over Liverpool on Sunday, the England midfielder could be on his way across London if an agreement can be reached between the two Premier League clubs.
While Arsenal have shown interest in Eze, it appears that Spurs have taken the lead in the race for the 27-year-old's signature. If Spurs manage to secure the talented player, they will reportedly need to pay what would be a record-breaking £68m fee, which is said to be Eze's release clause. Some reports claim that the clause expires before the start of the Premier League season.
The former QPR star is reportedly tempted by the chance to feature in the Champions League whilst staying in the capital, though reports indicate Tottenham value him at approximately £55m – matching the sum they paid West Ham for Kudus. With Spurs in need of a Maddison replacement, they could do far worse than Eze. His age, Premier League experience and potential sell-on value will no doubt make a record-breaking fee seem more appealing as well.
Time to cash in on £20m fringe player
Manor Solomon joined Spurs in 2023, yet the Israeli has managed merely six outings for the club. A meniscus problem just three months after arriving in north London curtailed his 2023/24 season. The subsequent campaign witnessed the winger loaned out to Leeds United as he revived his career by playing a pivotal part in the Whites' promotion to the Premier League.
Despite netting 10 goals and contributing 12 assists for Daniel Farke's outfit, his summer return to Spurs has proved less successful as he missed the club's Asian tour through injury. With players including Kudus, Wilson Odobert, Richarlison, Mathys Tel and Brennan Johnson all positioned above Solomon in the pecking order, Spurs are considering offloading the 26-year-old.
Spurs are reportedly seeking £15m to £20m for his signature, with a Leeds comeback being suggested given Farke's frustration with his limited attacking choices. The German was scathing regarding the club's stuttering efforts to strengthen their forward line, recently stating: "In comparison to our Championship side, we have not improved in the offence.
"We are not prepared yet for a long Premier League season. We are capable of playing at a good level but in order to be ready and to win games at this level... you need players who can score goals and give assists." Getting £20m for Solomon - a player they signed on a free - would represent some astute business and help them fund their crucial, big-money moves for Eze and Savinho.
