Home All Sports Manchester City Winger Is On The Radar Of Tottenham Hotspur: Should Maresca...
In a recent segment on Youtube, respected journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that Manchester City winger Savinho is on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur this summer. Romano said,
“Tottenham remain very interested in Savinho. It’s a name I told you long time ago, months ago.
“And Tottenham keep working on the Savinho deal. Then waiting for Manchester City to take a decision on the Savinho story whether they want to let him go or not, which conditions. But the conversations has started.
“The conversation is ongoing and we have to wait and see the timing. But Savinho is the next big name on Tottenham list and I would include also Cody Gakpo among the players they like at winger position after reshaping the midfield with Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes. So keep an eye on Savinho.”
Savinho’s Lack Of Game Time At Man City
Savinho served as a good squad player for the Mancunian club in the previous campaign when he put in a run of productive displays for them in the final third. The 22-year-old participated in 36 matches for Man City last season, netting four goals and earning three assists across various competitions.
The Brazilian talent is among the best young wide players in the Premier League. However, he is not a regular starter for Man City and could benefit from a change of scenery this summer.
His current contract at the Etihad Stadium will expire in the summer of 2031. Thus, the Mancunian club are in no immediate need to let him go in this transfer window.
Should Manchester City Boss Enzo Maresca Cash In On Savinho?
Savinho is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make some driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to create some inviting chances in the final third and can shoot the ball with venom from long range.
The Brazilian talent can even contribute by scoring and creating some important goals for his team. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League but is not a regular starter for the Mancunian club.
Thus, it is only fair to Savinho if Man City boss Enzo Maresca allow him to leave this summer as he would benefit from playing regular first-team football in the coming years.
At 22, Savinho has got a bright future ahead of him. Still, Man City should consider cashing in on him and using the money generated from his potential sale to strengthen other areas of their squad.
