Martin Ho feels there’s a ‘lot more to come’ from Matilda Vinberg after she committed her future with the Club.
Penning a new, long-term contract, the Sweden international has become a regular member of Martin’s side this term and her much-improved displays saw her earn a recall to the senior national team squad earlier this month.
Still only 23 years old and just in her second full season in England, our Head Coach expressed his delight to keep the young winger on board at Spurs and hopes we begin to see the very best of her.
“I’m delighted Matilda has committed her future to the Club. It shows real belief in the direction we’re going, and continuity in the group is a key part of building something strong.
“She’s a player we really believe in. There’s a lot more within her that we see every day on the training pitch, just giving her the environment where she can thrive and the confidence and belief in her ability is important.
“Her technical quality, flexibility across positions and attacking instincts give her a really high ceiling. Now it’s about turning that into consistent impact, and I’m confident everyone will see that.”
Showcasing more of a clinical edge in the final third this term where she has provided seven goal contributions – her best return in a Spurs shirt to date – and Martin feels she can contribute more to our future ambitions in years to come.
“We can push her levels over the long-term,” Martin added. “I feel she can be someone who contributes a lot to this success and her own ambitions of being in the senior national team with Sweden, I want to help her get there.
“We know there's a lot more to come from Tilly and we just need to give her that time and space and confidence to grow. Once she gets that confidence back to where it needs to be, I think you'll see a really good player.”
