Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make any big signings in this summer’s transfer window.
The North Londoners sacked Ange Postecoglou even though he won them the Europa League. Thomas Frank has come in as his replacement, and he will be keen on new additions.
Mathys Tel’s loan move has been made permanent, while young Kota Takai has also been brought in.
Spurs still need reinforcements in multiple areas of their pitch, and one midfielder seems keen to talk to Daniel Levy about a move to North London.
Orkun Kokcu wants to hold transfer talks with Tottenham
Orkun Kokcu has been linked with a move to Tottenham for a long time.
The talented Turk was a target for many Premier League clubs when he was at Feyenoord in the Netherlands, and that interest increased after his move to Benfica.
Tottenham have looked at Kokcu on plenty of occasions in the past, as have other English sides like Liverpool.
Now, GiveMeSport have claimed that Kokcu is interested in a move to the Premier League and specifically ‘wants to hold talks’ with Tottenham.
The report claims that the 24-year-old is ‘keen to quickly discover how serious Tottenham are about luring him away from Benfica’ in this window.
TBR Football exclusively revealed that Yves Bissouma could leave Spurs this summer, and Kokcu, who can play in all three central midfield positions, has been pinpointed as a target.
Benfica are prepared to let him go, but the report claims that they are looking for a fee in the region of £35 million. It remains to be seen if Spurs are prepared to meet those demands.
Orkun Kokcu has been compared to former Tottenham star Luka Modric
Luka Modric is one of the greatest midfielders Tottenham have ever had.
The Croatian spent four years at Spurs before leaving them for Real Madrid and becoming one of the best in the world there.
Kokcu is by no means as good as Modric, but former Liverpool star Mohamed Sissoko once compared the Turk to the Real Madrid icon.
He told TuttoJuve: “I go out of my way and answer Modric, he (Kokcu) has the same quality of play for me. He has the potential to reach his level.”
