Tottenham Hotspur fans have had little to smile about in the league this season, they are currently 16th position and on course for their worst campaign of the Premier League era, and they have already been beaten 18 times in the league this season which is their most since 1997 and could potentially break the club for defeats in a single season which stands at 20.

Despite this negativity surrounding the club, Europe has provided a brief glimmer of hope and a potential silver lining which could see the club miraculously return to the Champions League for the first time since the days of Antonio Conte in 2023.

The Lillywhites are already in the semi-final of the Europa League and have been handed a fairly favourable draw which sees them face Norwegian underdogs Bodo/Glimt. Spurs due to their vast experience and squad value will inevitably enter the fixture as huge favourites although there’s a slight air of trepidation, given the fact that the team were able to overcome the odds to beat Lazio last time out.

Victory in that match would set up a final against either Athletic Bilbao or Manchester United in the Basque Country which would potentially see Ange Postecoglou’s side sneak into Europe’s elite competition while also ending their 17-year trophy drought.

If such an instance was to occur, it would inevitably leave the club with plenty of financial muscle to flex on new signings, and give the manager a drastic boost when it comes to attracting the world’s top stars. With that in mind, we take a look at the double signing which could transform the capital club.

Who Tottenham Hotspurs should target if they make the Champions League?

Highly-rated Spanish wonderkid Gabri Veiga sent shock waves around the whole of Europe when he opted to leave La Liga side Celta Vigo to complete a £34m move to Saudi side Al-Ahli.

Veiga seemed to have most of Europe’s elites queuing up for him after impressing at The Estadio Municipal de Balaídos and making the Spanish Team of the Season. He has continued to shine in the Middle East with Al-Ahli since his move while playing with the likes of Roberto Firmino and Ivan Toney among others. Overall, he has 11 goals and nine assists in 54 appearances and has proven himself as a class act both on the wing and as a central midfielder.

However, Fichajes claim the youngster, still only 22, is seeking a move back to Europe to boost his hopes of playing at the World Cup in 2026. Veiga has just 12 months remaining on his contract and would be guaranteed regular football at Spurs, who could pick him up for a cut-price fee. He’d provide valuable competition in the central attacking area of midfield, with James Maddison struggling for consistency due to injuries and rotation in recent months. The youngster has an estimated value of £30m due to his current contract situation.

TBR Football claim Spurs are eyeing a shock move for West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen as they aim to boost their attacking resources. England international Bowen has been at West Ham since 2020 and has scored 70 and assisted 48 in 233 appearances while primarily playing as a right winger. The most important of those came in the Europa Conference final in 2023 to mark the club’s first honour since 1980.

Bowen is viewed as a legendary figure at West Ham but could be tempted to move to North London if Spurs are to achieve their goal of achieving Champions League status.

The 28-year-old has been a standout performer in a Hammers team which has struggled without David Moyes and could be a tempting proposition for the club, who have not seen the best of Heung Min Son, aged 32, in recent months. Bowen has a valuation of £55m, according to Footmob.
