Mikey Moore scored a late penalty as England came from behind to grab a 2-2 draw against Norway in their opening match of the UEFA Under-19 Championship in Romania on Saturday.
Proudly captaining the side, Mikey started and completed a full shift at the Ilie Oana Stadium in Ploiesti.
England started well, Mikey looking lively, and opened the scoring through Brighton's Tom Watson on 11 minutes. Alexander Rossing-Lelesiit levelled for Norway on 18 minutes, Mikey then set up Villa’s Kaden Young, who struck the woodwork.
Norway edged ahead just before the break through Sondre Granaas and it stayed that way in a quieter second half until 10 minutes from time, when Chelsea's Shumaira Mheuka was bundled over and Mikey made no mistake from the penalty spot, firing home confidently for 2-2.
Germany are next up for England in Group on Tuesday (5pm UK) - Germany were beaten 3-0 by the Netherlands in their opener on Saturday. The top two teams from two groups of four progress to the semi-finals.
Archie back in action for U21s
Archie Gray and England Under-21s return to action against Slovenia today (Sunday 15 June) in the second of their three Group B matches in the UEFA Under-21 Championship in Slovakia. Archie started at right-back in the Young Lions' 3-1 win Czechia on Thursday.
