Alex Neil has enjoyed an impressive transfer window this far at Millwall but one Spurs defender could be the icing on the cake.

Millwall begin their Championship season against Norwich City this weekend and Alex Neil’s men look raring to go after a strong pre-season campaign.
The Lions won their last four friendly outings against Northampton Town, Bromley, Sutton United and Estoril Praia, and look to take that confidence to Carrow Road. The London outfit are also buoyed by a strong transfer window so far.
Middlesbrough striker Josh Coburn has been brought in on a permanent deal following his loan last season and has been among the goals this summer. Alfie Doughty arriving from Luton Town looks a coup with Zak Sturge and Steven Benda coming in from Premier League duo Chelsea and Fulham.
Millwall should look for one more piece of transfer business before Norwich City
One position that hasn’t had fresh blood is at centre-back. That hasn’t been a desperate priority for Millwall with Japhet Tanganga, Jake Cooper and Tristan Crama all confident at the heart of defence.
However, it’s a long Championship season and would not be unheard of for two of those players to be out injured at the same time. What’s more, Tanganga has been linked with a transfer away from The Den this summer, so adding an extra body could be wise.
Millwall have done business with Tottenham Hotspur before and should go knocking at the north London club’s door once again ahead of this weekend’s opener against Norwich City. Luka Vuskovic has been made available for loan and, after he has turned heads in pre-season, time is of the essence.
Lions should swoop for Luka Vuskovic
The 18-year-old has never made a competitive appearance for Spurs, despite signing in September 2023 for £12 million. The centre-back was just 16 years old when agreeing to join from Hajduk Split and spent the following seasons on loan at Radomiak and Westerlo, while remaining on the books at Split.
It’s only this summer that Vuskovic has officially arrived at Tottenham Hotspur and he does so with much hype surrounding his future. That’s been clear to see during the pre-season games too with the teenager looking at ease among the more senior Spurs players.
LondonWorld gave the defender a 10/10 score for his second half showing in that match. We wrote: “How about that? The giant provided the assist for Lankshear and then scored one himself with a striker’s finish. Some fantastic work defensively too, including a goal-saving block. That’s how you announce yourself. A beast in the making.”
Standing at 6’4”, Vuskovic looks a monster and the type of player who would slot in perfectly alongside Cooper or Tanganga. He’d provide a goal threat too and looks more than capable of taking the Championship by storm.
A loan move for the teenager would save Millwall another transfer outlay and would take the pressure off should a tasty bid come in for Tanganga. It seems a no brainer.
