One of Thomas Frank’s top Tottenham Hotspur transfer targets is close to rejecting them in favour of a move elsewhere.
Tottenham Hotspur are starting to step up their transfer plans for the summer with new head coach Thomas Frank now in place.
Frank demanded some control at Tottenham during talks over his move from Brentford and he has already made one key transfer recommendation.
However, Spurs’ attempts to sign the player now look set to be unsuccessful and he is now expected to move elsewhere.
Bryan Mbeumo is heading to Manchester United over Tottenham
Sky Sports are reporting that Bryan Mbeumo is heading to Manchester United at this moment in time, despite interest from Tottenham.
Mbeumo, who’s been compared to Mo Salah, has opted for Old Trafford over the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in what is a big blow for Frank’s transfer plans at Spurs.
TBR Football sources can also confirm that there is acceptance at Spurs that the player is committed to joining Man United. The North London club made their pitch, but were unwilling to match the wages involved.
Frank desperately wanted Mbeumo to join him in making the switch across London, however, that doesn’t look like it will be the case.
Mark McAdam told Sky Sports: “At the moment, it feels like he’s headed to Old Trafford. We know that there were a number of sides that were interested in Bryan Mbeumo. His contract is running down, hence why Manchester United are seeing this as an opportunity.
“We know there’s interest from Tottenham as well, but it looks like he’s heading to Old Trafford. They’re just preparing a second offer which they hope will get Mbeumo.”
Tottenham have already turned to Eberechi Eze over Bryan Mbeumo
TBR Football understands that Frank loves Eberechi Eze and the North London club have started looking at a deal for the Crystal Palace forward.
It has also emerged that Palace are open to Eze’s release clause being paid in instalments which makes a deal easier for Spurs to now do.
The 26-year-old could now quickly become the focus of the Lilywhites’ transfer window as they look to add to their attacking options.
Tottenham have been after Eze for quite some time now, having first held an interest back in 2019, whilst he was playing for Queens Park Rangers.
