Mohammed Kudus was one of Tottenham’s major summer signings, and now he has revealed who helped convince him to join the club.

Kudus ruffled some feathers by making the switch from West Ham United to Spurs, with Alan Pardew labelling it “disrespectful,” but the winger grabbed the transfer with both hands.

Spurs paid £55million for Kudus after his impressive run with the Hammers to provide Thomas Frank with some more attacking quality this season.

Kudus has been linked with several clubs, but he chose Tottenham to make his home, and now fans know why.

While Tottenham have a strong squad of players with whom Kudus has been able to link up throughout this season, none of them were the specific reasons for his joining the club.

Instead, Kudus revealed to Sports Illustrated that Tottenham’s new manager, Frank, inspired him to join the club.

“I think the main big factors in any club I would want to join, you know, is the project, how I see myself developing in that project and the manager.

“Looking at his work at Brentford, with attackers, I can name so many like Mbeumo, Ivan Toney, Damsgaard. His development with them has been really, really massive, you know?

“So I thought, yeah, he would be the perfect guy to help in my development, and how he wants his attackers to play as well. I think I have the qualities to play like that, and that’s how I want to play.

“So yeah, it just fitted perfectly in my head, and it just felt right. I’m just going to listen to my heart.”

The move is something that has already benefited Kudus, as his performances this season have been strong, with Alan Shearer claiming he’s “become a “real threat,” under Frank.

How has Mohammed Kudus been performing this season for Tottenham?

After making the move to Tottenham in the summer, Kudus had a lot of expectation on his shoulders, with fans keen to see how he would adapt and step up.

While last season wasn’t his strongest from an individual perspective, Kudus has started life at his new club very well.

Frank has made Kudus a regular in his starting line-up, and the winger has responded by providing four assists in his first nine games across all competitions.

Kudus is yet to open his account for Spurs with a goal, but the early signs of his Tottenham career have certainly been positive.
