A new initiative launched last week to commemorate the contributions of every player to have ever represented us in a senior competitive fixture from the 2011/12 campaign, we have four new additions to now see 187 players honoured in our journey to WSL.
New arrivals this summer, Caitlin Dijkstra (184) and Kirsty Hanson (185) started at Brisbane Road with numbers decided in alphabetical order by surname.
Kirsty also entered a prestigious group in the Club’s history books, becoming the 15th player since 2011 to score on her debut with her first-half strike and later added a second with stunning curling effort into the top corner in the second period.
Then, Shekiera Martinez (186) and Victoria Pelova (187) were second half substitutes with Shekiera entering the fray just before the hour mark while Victoria was introduced for the final 10 minutes of the contest.
