Newcastle United preserved their unbeaten record for the new season by coming from two goals down to earn a deserved point in Saturday lunchtime’s home game with Premier League rivals Bournemouth.

The Cherries have often proven to be awkward opposition for the Magpies - and their impressive run of results at St James Park looked set to continue as a goal from former United academy winger Marcus Tavernier and an own goal from Malick Thiaw put the visitors firmly in control with half-time approaching.

However, Harvey Barnes produced a stunning effort on the brink of the break to set the foundations for a comeback that was completed when substitute Jacob Ramsey fired home an equaliser inside the final five minutes of the game. That ensured Matthias Jaissle’s side made it five points from their opening three Premier League games - and a home win in a Carabao Cup tie against West Bromwich Albion only heightened the positivity surrounding the club.

Of course, there is a long way to go in the season and major challenges lie in wait - but it has been a promising start to the campaign after a summer of change within the United squad. But where are Jaissle’s men predicted to finish in the Premier League this season? We take a look at the new predicted final Premier League table pieced together by the stats experts at Opta.
