Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank remains under scrutiny in north London following a 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.

The Spurs boss had come under growing pressure last month amid struggles for form but 2-0 and 3-0 wins over Brentford and Slavia Prague had allayed some fears. However, a sixth defeat of the season at The City Ground leaves the club in 11th place after 16 matches.

Frank’s reaction to bad results in recent weeks has frustrated some Tottenham Hotspur supporters and there also appears to be some unrest between the coach and players.

Crystal Palace and Fulham managers linked with Tottenham Hotspur

Several names have been touted as potential candidates to take over from Frank, should Spurs lose patience. Frontrunners are Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner and Fulham manager Marco Silva.

Both of those coaches have been working minor miracles on shoe-string budgets at their respective London outfits and their long-term futures at Selhurst Park and Craven Cottage are up in the air. It’s thought that financial backing at Spurs could prove a major temptation.

Another name linked with Tottenham Hotspur is that of Brendan Rodgers. The former Liverpool and Leicester City manager has plenty of Premier League experience and won four Scottish Premiership titles with Celtic before leaving in October.

Brendan Rodgers in Saudi Arabia to finalise new job

In contrast to Glasner or Silva, Rodgers is currently out of work and would potentially be an easier hire for Tottenham Hotspur. However, talkSPORT reports that the 52-year-old is now ‘closing in’ on a deal to take up a position with Saudi Arabian outfit Al Qadsiah.

Rodgers remains linked with Spurs but has now travelled to the Middle East to finalise a deal and replace Michel Gonzalez, after he was sacked on Sunday. Al Hilal, NEOM FC and Al Qadsiah are also said to be monitoring the availability of Rodgers.

Speaking on talkSPORT, former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan was asked about Rodgers’ potential move to Saudi, which comes after recent links with the Leeds United job. Sarcastically, Jordan said: "Oh it's definitely a football move. I mean, it's an advancement of his career.

"It's a natural progression obviously from managing Premier League clubs to the biggest club in Scotland arguably on to managing a team in Saudi. It's a natural progression.

He continued: "No I think that's what the money is and as much as I might slightly be tongue in cheek the perception of going to Saudi is that that's the end of your career because it's not really a football move.

"It's a money move. But Nuno Espirito Santo is living proof that you can go there, manage, go for a bag of money and come back and I suspect so is Rafa Benitez."
