EXCLUSIVE: Non-league club's cheeky offer to Tottenham Hotspur season ticket holders
Tottenham season-ticket holders will be able to take in some football over the international period for just £1, with non-league Chelmsford City offering tickets for just a pound
A cheeky non-league football club has trolled struggling Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur by inviting their season ticket holders to come and watch them for just one POUND.
Chelmsford City has made the offer to Spurs supporters as their team face up to a humiliating relegation battle. Fans of both clubs have had a laugh at the mischievous offer in posts online
With Spurs just one point ahead of the drop zone and facing a potentially disastrous drop into the Championship they sacked their manager Igor Tudor over the weekend.
Now Essex side Chelmsford City - who play in the National League South - are hoping to entice some of the North London fans to change allegiance and support them.
A club spokesman said: “Chelmsford City would like to invite season ticket holders of Tottenham Hotspur to come down to a game to enjoy some non-league football!
“On Friday the 3rd of April, we host Enfield Town for a 3pm KO, and any fans who present their 2025/2026 Spurs season ticket at the gate will be able to get in for just £1!”
Fans reacted with humour. Lee Toublic said: “Good opportunity for Spurs fans to see a higher standard of football.”
Martin Blow: “Give it 4-5 years they'll be playing there in the league.” Another Spurs fan added: “We see non league football every week thanks.”
And John Roberts said: “Excellent effort by @OfficialClarets. This a compassionate gesture and will help the @SpursOfficial acclimatise to what season 26/27 and beyond could be like.” Tudor left his role as interim head coach after just 44 days and seven matches. Spurs confirmed goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic and physical coach Riccardo Ragnacci have also departed.
Tudor, 47, did not undertake post-match media duties after the defeat by Forest because of the death of his father.
"We thank Igor, Tomislav and Riccardo for their efforts during the past six weeks, in which they worked tirelessly," said Spurs in a statement.
"We also acknowledge the bereavement that Igor has recently suffered and send our support to him and his family at this difficult time."
Spurs aren't back in action until April 12, with this coming weekend featuring the four FA Cup quarter finals and no Premier League fixtures taking place.
