AS Roma have identified Tottenham Hotspur’s Wilson Odobert as one of the targets to improve their attack this summer.

That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, and they report the Serie A side have made an attempt to sign the winger. Last August, Odobert left Burnley for Tottenham and finished his debut season with three goals from 21 games.

He picked up a hamstring injury and spent close to 150 days on the sidelines between September and February, restricting his game time at Spurs. The Giallorossi could now try to sign him before this window closes.

Roma have an agreement with Manchester United to sign Jadon Sancho, but he’s yet to give his approval. The situation has forced their sporting director, Frederic Massara, to evaluate other options.

On Thursday, the option of the Tottenham player emerged, and Roma have probed the possibility of securing his services.

The 20-year-old has a contract until 2029, and the newspaper reports the Europa League winners have set a starting price of €25m. It’s claimed Gian Piero Gasperini’s side ‘could guarantee’ this fee through a loan deal with an option to buy.

It’s unclear whether Tottenham will accept this formula and Corriere makes no mention of Odobert’s stance on joining Roma.
