Olivia Holdt has been named your HSBC Player of the Match after her impressive display once again in our draw with Manchester United on Sunday.

Registering two assists in the dramatic encounter at Leigh Sports Village, the midfielder has picked up her fifth award of the season thanks to votes from our supporters in a poll hosted exclusively on our official App.

Continuing to perform at an incredibly high level, ‘Oli’ was a constant threat to the hosts as we started to grow into the contest after early pressure from Marc Skinner’s side.

Then, with eight minutes left to play in the first half, the Denmark international was on hand to help open the scoring as her left-footed cross, after some nice build-up down the right-hand side, was met by Bethany England centrally inside the box and she powered home a header off the underside of the crossbar.

After Eveliina Summanen doubled our lead on the stroke of half time, Oli then showcased some great pace and composure to set up Martha Thomas for the third goal of the afternoon. Turning her marker inside our own half, the 24-year-old produced a surging run towards United’s box before sliding in Martha on her right, who made no mistake to fire home her first WSL goal of the season.

Those two assists now takes her goal involvements to eight (five goals and three assists) in 13 games in all competitions, with the creative midfielder now our leading goalscorer for the campaign to date.
