Manchester City have turned down a €70m (£59m) bid from Tottenham for Savinho, according to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte.
The offer was made earlier this week and quickly rejected by Pep Guardiola’s side, but the London club have promised to return with a new proposal before the window closes in two weeks.
The player’s representatives have travelled to England to oversee talks, and while the deal is complicated by the figures involved, all parties are said to view the move positively.
A fee of €70m would have already placed Savinho among the most expensive signings of the summer: only six players have moved for more: Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitiké to Liverpool, Benjamin Šeško and Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United, Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray, and Matheus Cunha also to United.
As we previously reported, Savinho’s agent Frederico Moraes has made it clear that Manchester City value the winger at €80m (£67m), meaning Spurs will likely need to raise their offer a bit more to get a deal done.
Savinho is keen on the move and believes a switch to Spurs would mean more minutes and a bigger role in the build-up to the 2026 World Cup, boosting his chances of making Carlo Ancelotti’s final Brazil squad.
