Inter Milan are only thinking about Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario for the summer.

The Italy international spent his entire career in his home country before Tottenham signed him from Empoli in June 2023.

He has been the first choice for the Premier League side since then, keeping 29 clean sheets and conceding 170 goals from 117 matches.

It includes 13 clean sheets and 65 goals conceded from 43 matches for the north London club this season.

The stopper’s Premier League stats this season are as follows:

Shots faced on target: 131

Saves: 83

Save percentage: 63.4%

Goals conceded: 50

Penalties saved: 0/2

He hasn’t enjoyed a great run with Spurs, who have also struggled this season. That hasn’t put off the Nerazzurri from wanting to bring him back to Serie A in the summer.

Last month, Sport Witness relayed news of Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio’s trip to London and also holding talks with his agent.

Keen to sign Tottenham player

Inter Milan have 37-year-old Yann Sommer as their No.1 and his contract expires in June. Therefore, they are looking for a new goalkeeper and have been linked to Liverpool star Alisson Becker, Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martínez and a few others.

However, the Serie A side aren’t looking elsewhere and are fully focusing only Guglielmo Vicario and have only made contact with the Tottenham Hotspur player.

That’s according to L’Interista, who cover the latest on the San Siro side’s ongoing efforts to sign him.

Earlier this week, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy the 29-year-old has agreed a four-year deal worth €3.5m per year. The outlet points this out and indicates this is likely a verbal agreement.

Having received outline agreement for the transfer, Inter Milan are now ‘already preparing to present an official offer’ to the player.

The stopper is keen on returning to Italy and Cristian Chivu’s side must agree terms with Spurs. There’s expectation an agreement could be struck with Roberto De Zerbi’s side for €20m or less, in the event of relegation.

The Premier League side are now 17th in the table, a point above 18th placed West Ham United.

Our take: Vicario likely to leave Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur’s immediate focus is to avoid relegation and then focus on their transfer business.

Even if Spurs were to continue in the top flight, Guglielmo Vicario is most likely to leave in the summer. However, staying up should allow the English club to demand a slightly higher fee.
