Just last weekend, away at Crystal Palace, our summer arrival had just earned her first competitive start in our colours. Fast forward to yesterday at 4pm, Vic had taken her goal tally to four in the WSL after netting back-to-back braces in the competition.
A key component in our emphatic win at Selhurst Park the week before, the Netherlands international got us off the mark at Brisbane Road on Sunday as she was in the right place at the right time to convert from close range after Olivia Holdt’s shot was saved by Akane Okuma.
Then, on 73 minutes, she doubled our advantage as she curled home from the right side of the box via the underside of the crossbar to give us a two-goal cushion before Caitlin Dijkstra and Cathinka Tandberg wrapped up the 4-0 win in front of our Lilywhite fanbase and moved us back up to second place in the table.
With now four goals to her name this term, Vic is the joint-leading goalscorer in the competition – level with Khadija Shaw and Oceane Hurte – and has already matched her goal tally from her last four seasons combined in the WSL.
