We’re pleased to confirm that our Under-21s will once again take on Leyton Orient for the JE3 Foundation Trophy in addition to visiting Bromley, Boreham Wood, Woking and Enfield Town during pre-season.
The match against League One side Orient will be held on Tuesday 22 July at Brisbane Road, kick-off 7.45pm, and represents the fifth time the Club and Leyton Orient have met for the JE3 Foundation Trophy, which honours the memory of our legendary former defender and ex-Orient manager Justin Edinburgh, who tragically passed away in 2019 at the age of 49. Our Under-21s faced the O’s in 2020, 2022 and 2024, while the 2021 instalment was contested by our first team squad.
Prior to that, Wayne Burnett’s side will begin their programme of pre-season fixtures against Bromley at Hayes Lane on Tuesday 8 July (kick-off 7.45pm) before visiting Boreham Wood at Meadow Park on Saturday 19 July, kick-off 3pm.
Saturday 26 July sees a visit to Woking at Kingfield Stadium, kick-off 3pm, before we return to near neighbours Enfield Town for the traditional pre-season friendly against them on Tuesday 5 August, kick-off 7.45pm.
Enfield Town’s Queen Elizabeth II Stadium is located just a stone’s throw from our Training Centre and has played host to this popular and well-attended fixture every year since 2018.
Tickets for all of our Under-21s’ pre-season matches will be available via the host clubs. Supporters are advised to book online in advance where possible to avoid disappointment.
As part of their preparations for the new campaign, our Under-21s will also travel to the Algarve for a week-long pre-season training camp next month.
