Tottenham’s woeful Premier League home form continued as Fulham claimed its first away victory of the season with a 2-1 win on Saturday, thanks to early goals by Kenny Tete and Harry Wilson.

Tete’s deflected shot put the visitors ahead after four minutes, and two minutes later, Wilson took advantage of Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario’s mistake with a stunning second.

Fulham should have been home and dry before halftime, with Samuel Chukwueze denied by the post and then by a goal-saving tackle by Micky van de Ven as Tottenham wobbled.

But the host side was a different proposition after the break and dominated the game after Mohammed Kudus halved the deficit in the 59th minute with a powerful dipping shot.

Tottenham was unable to salvage anything, though and has not won a home league match since the opening weekend.

It is in 10th place on 18 points, while 15th-placed Fulham, which had lost its last five away league games, moved six points above the relegation zone.

Magpies get the better of Everton

Malick Thiaw scored the fastest goal of the Premier League season after 55 seconds as Newcastle United recorded a first away win of the campaign with a 4-1 success over Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday.

Lewis Miley and Nick Woltemade added two more in the first half as Newcastle led 3-0 at the break, before Thiaw bagged his second as the visiting side took advantage of more poor defending from its host.

Newcastle moved into 11th in the table with 18 points from 13 games, while Everton also has 18 points but is in 14th place, having conceded four goals for the first time at its new stadium on the banks of the River Mersey.

It was the perfect 48th birthday present for Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, a boyhood Everton fan, despite a superb goal for the host from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
