Veiga-rreal
Renato Veiga could be heading out of Chelsea having reportedly agreed personal terms with Villarreal.
The defender joined the Blues from FC Basel last summer but joined Juventus on loan in January.
Veiga is one of eight players that talkSPORT reported could leave the club by the end of the summer.
And BBC Sport have reported that he is ready to join Villarreal having reached an agreement on personal terms.
However, Chelsea value Veiga at around £34million and the Spanish side are keen sign him for less than £30m.
Negotiations between the two clubs look set to continue.
Selhurst stay
talkSPORT's chief football correspondent Alex Crook believes Marc Guehi is likely to stay at Crystal Palace if Eberechi Eze leaves.
The defender, who appeared to blank boss Oliver Glasner on Sunday, has been heavily linked with a south London exit this summer.
Premier League champions Liverpool have shown interest in the centre-back.
However, talkSPORT understands Guehi is content on seeing out the last 12 months of his contract at the FA Cup winners.
And with Tottenham close to reaching an agreement for Eze, Crook believes that Guehi is set to remain at Palace beyond the summer.
Speaking on Breakfast, he said: "I was told a few weeks ago that they would only let one go this summer.
"I think, ideally, it would have been Guehi, because obviously he's out of contract at the end of the season.
"And there's a very big risk he leaves on a free transfer because I certainly don't seem him putting pen to paper on a new deal.
"But I think if Eze goes, that would just strengthen their resolve to get top dollar for Guehi.
"We know Liverpool have held talks but last I heard, the two clubs were some way away in terms of a valuation. Newcastle, who tried to sign him a year ago, have gone down a different route.
"So I don't think there's loads of options for Guehi, Liverpool will keep trying to get this deal done.
"But at the moment, I would probably err on the side of him being more likely to stay than follow Eze out the door."
Huge move
Tottenham are on the verge of reaching an agreement with Crystal Palace for Eberechi Eze, talkSPORT understands.
talkSPORT reported that Spurs were confident of reaching an agreement with their Premier League rivals during the week.
They are set to pay a total package of around £60million for the Palace star, who scored the winning goal in last season's FA Cup final.
Eze was doubtful to play for the Eagles in their Premier League opener against Chelsea on Sunday.
However, he started and had a goal disallowed, before appearing to say goodbye to Palace fans in the away end at Stamford Bridge.
Eze has already agreed personal terms with Spurs, but wants to leave Palace in the right manner.
Agreeing a fee for Eze is the only part of the transfer that's left to be finalised.
Palace must also line up a replacement, with Eze set to train and play as normal until the club are confident of signing another attacking midfielder.
'Don't think it's sensible'
Simon Jordan does not agree with Leeds United fans and their boos for Jack Harrison against Everton.
The winger was a second half substitute in the 1-0 win against the Toffees, where he spent the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons on loan.
Harrison departed Leeds after their relegation to the Championship, and fans made their feelings clear at Elland Road upon his return.
talkSPORT's Jordan spoke against them booing their own player, but appeared to understand why some chose to do so.
"The Leeds fans obviously felt that he left Leeds in their hour of need, which is when they wanted to get back to the Premier League, to go to an opportunity in the Premier League.
"Now the opportunity is now no longer at Everton, he comes back to Leeds and they don't forget.
"Now, I don't think it's rational and I don't think it's sensible to boo someone that's now going to help you achieve your biggest outcome.
"Which is staying in the Premier League and being successful again as Leeds United.
"But you cannot ask football fans to sit there and be emotionally stunted or rational in their thinking when the game, in and of itself, is predicated on irrationality."
One step closer
Rangers are just two matches away from reaching the main draw of this season's Champions League.
The Scottish giants host Club Brugge at Ibrox in their play-off round first leg tonight.
Victory will give them a much-needed boost for the second leg on August 27 as they eye a return to the competition.
Rangers last played in the Champions League in the 2022/23 season, when they were knocked out at the group stage.
Their Scottish rivals Celtic are also competing in the play-off round and face Kazakh side FC Kairat in their first leg on Wednesday night.
Ferencvaros, Bodo/Glimt and Fenerbahce are among the other sides hoping to qualify.
The league phase draw will take place on August 28.
Historic
Morecambe have made the historic appointment of Ashvir Singh Johal as their new manager.
He has become the first Sikh to manage a professional British club, and will be the youngest manager in England's top five leagues.
"The immediate priority right now is going to be to identify the players that we need in this building to ensure Morecambe Football Club can perform well in the National League," he said.
Singh Johal was previously on the coaching staff at Wigan Athletic and worked with Cesc Fabregas at Como.
'Incorrect'
Everton boss David Moyes expressed his frustration with the decision to award a penalty to Leeds United in their Monday night clash.
James Tarkowski was penalised for handball late on in the second half at Elland Road.
The centre-back had his arm by his side and leaned into the path of a shot from Anton Stach
Referee Chris Kavanagh took a few moments to make his decision and controversially awarded a penalty, which Lukas Nmecha scored.
Moyes spoke to talkSPORT after the match and explained why he was confused with the call.
"I thought it was incorrect, I thought James' arm was as close to his body as he could have it," he said. "If the arm was in a different position, I could understand the penalty kick being given.
"I don't really see how that was given, I don't think it was the on-field referee, I think it was VAR and I think that was wrong.
"I spoke to him [Kavanagh] in the dressing room after and he said it wasn't his decision.
"I don't know if he was saying it was the linesman or VAR but it was one of the other gentlemen in the room. I think it was the linesman, but I'd be amazed if a linesman gave it from where he was."
Moyes added: "He didn't know the ball had taken a deflection as well when it was shot.
"They said he leaned, but please get into the rules, because I've been hearing a lot this weekend and I don't think there's anything saying you're not allowed to lean as a football player.
"I think he was leaning but I don't think he was getting his arm out to block it so I don't see how it's given."
'Did you hear that?'
Gary Neville was caught out live on Sky Sports ahead of kick-off in Leeds vs Everton at Elland Road...
The ex-Man United defender could be heard speaking about the fans without realising the ad break had finished.
As the coverage cut back to Neville, Jamie Carragher and host David Jones in the studio, he embarrassed himself.
Footage of the Leeds fans was being shown and Neville said: "They are the one group of fans I wouldn't want to go anywhere near."
The trio then instantly burst out in laughter as they realised that the words were broadcast live on TV.
Neville then added whilst chuckling: "Did you hear that?"
He did quickly stand by his comment and more laughter filled the studio in a very funny pre-match moment.
And to be fair to Neville, the Leeds fans are sure to not want a Man United legend anywhere near them either!
Going nowhere
Pep Guardiola has closed the door on Savinho leaving Manchester City, talkSPORT understands.
Tottenham wanted to sign Savinho in a potential club record deal but Guardiola does not want to lose him.
It means the Brazilian will be staying at the Etihad this season.
He only arrived at the club last summer, going on to make 29 Premier League appeareances and another nine in the Champions League.
The winger also provided 10 assists in all competitions.
Spurs may now move onto other wide targets, while they also close in on signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.
Kick-off!
The action is underway at Elland Road!
There's an incredible atmosphere being created by the Leeds support and that's surely got to buoy there side on.
