Tottenham Hotspur have put together a strong squad that has thrived in the Premier League so far, but one forgotten player has struggled for game time.
Thomas Frank has made an immediate impact since taking over from Ange Postecoglou during the summer, which also saw him bring in several of his own players.
Frank’s changes have been positive, with Spurs currently sitting third in the Premier League table after the opening seven games.
However, one player who hasn’t been getting many opportunities for Tottenham in recent times might just be about to force his way back into Frank’s contention.
Fabio Paratici’s return could save Radu Dragusin’s Tottenham Hotspur career
Many Tottenham fans may have forgotten about Radu Dragusin because he hasn’t played for the club in 228 days.
However, Fabio Paratici’s return as Tottenham’s sporting director might change all of that, as he advocated for Dragusin during his previous spell with the club.
Paratici was banned by FIFA for 30 months back in March 2023 after his involvement in Juventus’ alleged financial irregularities scandal, but he has now served that time and is back in the game.
TBR Football reported earlier in the summer that Tottenham have been pushing to bring Paratici back to the club, and now that has taken place.
It could be just in time for Dragusin as well, with Paratici previously comparing him to Giorgio Chiellini, having been impressed by the man who cost Spurs £27million.
Unfortunately for the 23-year-old, game time has been hard to come by as of late, which has led to people thinking he might be sold in January.
Radu Dragusin may now get a second chance at Tottenham Hotspur
Now Paratici is back, his influence on the football club could allow Dragusin to have a second chance at Spurs.
Jermain Defoe had previously said Dragusin should leave Tottenham due to his lack of playing time, but the next few months might see that change.
The versatile defender can play centrally or at right back, and Dragusin was back training for Tottenham last month following his devastating ACL injury.
Now with Dragusin back fully fit and with someone fighting his corner, Frank might need to consider offering him some minutes on the pitch.
