RB Leipzig is looking to sign the Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old Romanian defender has struggled for opportunities at the north London club, and he wants to leave in search of regular time. According to a report from Fanatik, the player has already given his consent to a move, and he wants to join the German club in the summer.
Tottenham are prepared to sanction his departure for a fee of €20 million. The report further claims that the German team is ready to pay up, and it remains to be seen whether all parties can finalise the move.
Dragusin has shown his quality in Italy, and he will look to get his career back on track with regular football in Germany now. Leipzig is a good team with an ambitious project, and they could provide him with regular opportunities. It could be the ideal move for the Romanian defender.
The central defender is highly rated across Europe, and he has a bright future. Sitting on the bench at Tottenham would be detrimental to his growth. It will be interesting to see if he can hit the ground running in Germany and establish himself as an important player for RB Leipzig.
Dragusin has started just five games in the Premier League this season.
The player’s agent, Florin Manea, has already visited Germany and held talks about a potential move at the German club’s headquarters. He also attended the match against Union Berlin.
Tottenham paid around €25 million to sign the player from Genoma in 2024, and they will be able to recoup most of the investment in the summer. It remains to be seen whether they can bring in a quality replacement for the Romanian defender.
