Tottenham have some big decisions to make when rebuilding their squad under Roberto De Zerbi.

Tottenham Hotspur did not replace the great Son Heung-min after his departure last summer. That came back to bite the Lilywhites as the lack of firepower was clear for all to see this past season.

However, Spurs managed to end the season by preserving their top-flight status. The relegation battle went down to the final day, and Roberto De Zerbi’s men managed to keep their nerves and beat Everton 1-0 at home, relegating London rivals West Ham in the process.

Now, Spurs are about to kickstart a new era under De Zerbi. There is a clear need to bring in new attackers in the summer after the lacklustre returns from the current players in the roster. Xavi Simons, last summer’s marquee signing, struggled throughout the campaign before suffering an ACL injury against Wolves. Wilson Odobert is also currently sidelined with a torn ACL, while Mathys Tel endured a hugely frustrating first full campaign in North London.

Tottenham learn valuation of RB Leipzig star

There is no surprise that Tottenham are looking to add a new winger to their ranks for next season. The recruitment team must bring in a wide player who could compete with Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus, and provide a different dynamic to the Spurs attack.

Recent reports suggest that the Lilywhites are interested in signing RB Leipzig sensation Antonio Nusa. Arsenal and Newcastle United are also in the mix for the young winger.

Antonio Nusa, who has drawn comparisons with Brazil great Neymar, enjoyed a decent 2025/26 season with RB Leipzig. The Norwegian international bagged four goals and three assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances this past season, helping RB Leipzig finish third in the Bundesliga and qualify for the Champions League. The 21-year-old’s performances in an RB Leipzig shirt has unsurprisingly gone unnoticed across Europe, leading to an interesting development.

According to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, RB Leipzig would be willing to sell Nusa for €50m this summer. This is a steep decline from the €60m they had demanded from AS Roma during the January transfer window, after the Serie A club had enquired about the player’s availability. The fee was deemed too high by AS Roma and a move didn’t materialise then, although the Giallorossi still hold an interest in the talented winger.

Spurs must test RB Leipzig’s resolve for Antonio Nusa

A modern winger, Nusa combines pace, dribbling, spatial awareness and game intelligence with vision to punish the opponents. The rising Norwegian talent can provide a solution to Tottenham’s problems out wide next term, whilst being a good option to compete with Tel and Kudus. The 21-year-old would improve Tottenham’s squad, as De Zerbi looks to get the club back into European contention.

At around €50m, Spurs could land an exciting wide player with high ceiling. And if Nusa goes on to fulfil his potential in the future, it’d represent a great business for the Lilywhites.
