Real Madrid could offer Tottenham Hotspur full-back Pedro Porro a way out of North London this month with reports of a potential head-turning bid from the Spanish capital.

The 26-year-old remains one of the most important Spurs players for Thomas Frank, featuring in every Premier League match so far this season. However, the defender has made unwanted headlines since the departure of Ange Postecoglou.

Porro was the first Tottenham Hotspur player to post a message online after the former Australian manager was sacked, thanking him for the personal mentoring and delivering ‘one of the greatest moments in the club’s history’.

Pedro Porro frustrated with Tottenham Hotspur supporters

Spurs have struggled for form under Frank and Porro has hit back at criticism aimed at the players. After the 2-1 defeat to Fulham, Porro wrote on Instagram: “Football is emotions. In football, as in life, there can always be mistakes, what I will not tolerate is hearing disrespect from the fans to my teammates, hence my frustration at the end of the game.”

Should the defender be plotting a fresh start, then that could come with Real Madrid. TeamTALK cite reports from Madrid Universal claiming that Los Blancos are ‘weighing up’ a swoop for Porro.

It’s believed that the Spaniard could be viewed as competition for Trent Alexander-Arnold. The former Liverpool man has been managing a hamstring injury with Carvajal not having played since October having undergone a knee operation.

Martin O’Neill tells Porro to ‘get a grip’

Tottenham Hotspur paid £40 million to sign Porro from Sporting in 2023 following a loan spell in the UK. He’s gone on to make 134 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals and registering 24 assists.

Porro was slammed by former Premier League boss Martin O’Neill for his comments about Spurs fans earlier this season. Speaking to talkSPORT, O’Neill said: “That’s a total ingratiation to the fans of himself to the fans that’s what that is.

“I’ll tell you something now, I can imagine these things existing sometimes when Brian Clough [was managing]. And I have been hopeless in a game and he has just told me I’ve been hopeless in a match and then me going outside and going on social media and saying the fans deserve better than that.

“No, they deserve better from your performances (Porro) mate and you get a grip of yourself. I hope he's including himself in that group of players who didn't play so well...players, they’ll do your brain in!”
