Sandro Tonali is on the verge of a move to Tottenham Hotspur worth over €100m from Newcastle United, claim multiple sources in Italy and England.
The midfielder was targeted specifically by new coach Roberto De Zerbi, and the presence of the Italian tactician was a significant draw for the ex-Brescia and Milan man.
Massive bids had already been rejected in the region of €92m (£80m), but Spurs are continuing to press their Premier League rivals.
Tottenham tip the Tonali scale
Sky Sport Italia, Fabrizio Romano, TEAMtalk and more are all confident the latest proposal worth just over €100m will be accepted, despite suggestions the asking price was closer to £100m (around €116m).
It would represent a new all-time club record transfer for Tottenham, who just managed to avoid relegation last season and need to revamp their squad.
He had been sold to the Magpies by Milan for €60.8m plus bonuses in the summer of 2023.
As part of the agreement, Milan would be owed 10 per cent of the future sale fee from Newcastle United, so could pocket over €10m out of this deal.
