Manchester United will not sack Ruben Amorim if they lose to Tottenham in the Europa League final this month, according to reports.

Following a 2-0 defeat at home to West Ham on Sunday, Amorim sparked speculation over his future as United manager in his post-match press conference.

‘I don’t want to talk about players. I’m talking about myself, the culture in the club, the culture in the team,’ Amorim said.

‘I have that feeling, we need to change that and we need to be really strong in the summer and be brave because we will not have the next season like this.

‘If we start like this, or if the feeling is still here, we should give the space to different persons.’

United currently sit 16th in the Premier League with 39 points from 36 games this season and have registered just two wins in their last 10 matches.

However, Amorim has the chance to finish the campaign with a trophy as United play Tottenham in the Europa League final on May 21.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is already under significant pressure ahead of the final but according to The Guardian, Amorim’s job will be safe, irrespective of the outcome in Bilbao next week.

The report adds that Amorim views Wolves forward Matheus Cunha and Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap as key players for his rebuild at United.

Cunha has a £62.5 million release clause in his contract with Wolves and is open to joining United this summer.

Meanwhile, Delap has a £30m relegation release clause in his deal with Ipswich which can be triggered in the upcoming transfer window.
