Josefine Rybrink has enjoyed the intense first few weeks of her first pre-season at the Club.

Joining us in January, 2025, for the second half of the 2024/25 campaign, having previously been at BK Hacken, the defender was thrown straight into the action as she made six appearances for us in the Barclays Women’s Super League last term.

After we exercised an option in her contract for a further year, the 27-year-old is now well into pre-season preparations, using the valuable time to further grow her relationship with players and staff.

With the arrival of new Head Coach Martin Ho, who joined us last month from SK Brann, Josefine spoke of the importance of pre-season in the early weeks and the enjoyment of being back with the squad.

“It’s been going well,” she told us. “It’s been an intense first few weeks with good training sessions.

“I think that Martin has come in, in a really good way and is teaching us a lot of new things. However, it’s just really nice to be back, and see all the girls and staff again after a long break.

“I think [the most difficult part so far] has been keeping the body fresh,” she jokingly said. “No, but we have started very intensively so the biggest focus has been trying to take care of the body in the best way.

“It feels nice to have that fresh start again and just be involved from the very beginning with everyone.

“My first months at the Club went so fast, so it’s really nice to get a whole pre-season with everyone.”

We’re just over one month away until we embark on our seventh season in England’s top flight – at home to West Ham United on Sunday 7 September, with tickets available to buy – and Josefine is looking forward to playing in front of our Lilywhite fanbase once again.

“I'm so excited,” she added. “We're coming from a tough season last year so we're extra motivated to prove ourselves but, more importantly, to play in front of our fans again.”
