Tottenham Hotspur could be in for very a lively end to the summer transfer window

Spurs have until 11pm on September 1 to bolster their squad as transfer deadline day rapidly approaches. Despite the club's board demonstrating its faith in Roberto De Zerbi with a hefty summer outlay, things aren't going to plan on the pitch just yet.

A spending spree of around £320 million was placated by Tottenham selling off around £150m worth of talent. Yet a humbling 3-0 loss at Brentford last weekend was followed by a deeply frustrating 2-0 defeat at home to Newcastle on Saturday.

De Zerbi now has one final chance to throw the transfer dice this summer. With a host of outgoings expected and perhaps another body in through the door, we take a closer look at the deals the club can make ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

Iliman Ndiaye

Spurs have reportedly reached an agreement in principle to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Everton. However, the deal reportedly remains subject to the player agreeing on personal terms and passing a medical.

The Times reports that Spurs will pay £60m for the forward. Manchester City had also been credited with an interest in the Senegal star, but are now said to be in talks to sign Cody Gakpo from Liverpool.

Spurs had previously been linked with the latter this summer. Ndiaye is still under contract at Hill Dickinson Stadium until the summer of 2029, but he has not signed a new deal since signing from Sheffield United two years ago.

Richarlison

The Brazilian was Tottenham’s top goalscorer in the Premier League last season, but was left out of the squad for their 2-0 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday.

De Zerbi revealed after the game that Richarlison's absence was due to the player having informed the club that he wishes to leave. He is now tipped to rejoin Everton.

Richarlison joined the Blues for £30m from Watford in 2018 and completed a £60m move to Spurs at the start of the 2022 summer transfer window. The Athletic says that anonymous sources at both Everton and Spurs have claimed the moves for Ndiaye and Richarlison are not linked despite the players looking like they will swap clubs.

Mikey Moore

Moore spent last season on loan with Rangers and scored the opening goal in Spurs' 5-1 win over Charlton in the Carabao Cup. He is on the verge of a move to the Bundesliga.

The 19-year-old winger is set to join FC Koln on a season-long loan. However, there is no option to make the move permanent, given how highly he's rated at Spurs.

Kevin Danso

Danso has made just 52 appearances for Spurs and reportedly requested to leave after being left out of the team that beat Charlton last week. He joined the club from Lens in 2024.

Danso is the only right-sided senior back-up to Jan Paul Van Hecke but has been courted by Sunderland and Aston Villa. The 27-year-old Austria international would be more confident of starting regularly for both clubs and so a move could come to fruition.

Yet a major issue for Spurs is Danso's status as a homegrown player under Premier League rules. He was in the youth academies at Reading and MK Dons before leaving England at the age of 16 and later returning for a season at Southampton and his exit would leave Spurs one short of the eight required homegrown players.

Souza

Full-back Souza, 20, joined Spurs in January from Santos but is on the verge of a temporary move away from the club, with Porto agreeing terms with Tottenham.

It's reported that the Brazilian will spend the season on loan with the Portuguese top-flight side, having made just four appearances since his move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Kota Takai

The 21-year-old has become the forgotten man in north London club. The Japanese international arrived last summer from Kawasaki Frontale.

The centre-back struggled with injury after arriving and was then sent out on loan to German side Borussia Monchengladbach in the January window. According to Sky Sports, Takai is wanted by Watford ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

Pape Sarr

Sarr signed for Spurs in 2021 as a teenager, spending a year back on loan at Metz. However, he has struggled to find consistency in a Tottenham shirt.

Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly of securing Sarr's signature. According to the BBC, Juventus will take Sarr on loan but would be prepared to sign the midfielder permanently if he makes a certain number of appearances in Turin.

However, Tottenham are said to be looking for an obligation rather than an option to buy. Sarr also has interest from clubs in England, France and Turkey.
