Son Heung-min could now depart Tottenham Hotspur this summer after receiving an approach over a move away from North London.

TBR Football understands that Son’s future at Tottenham depends on who the next manager is, and the incoming Thomas Frank now faces a tough decision.

Frank has held talks with Spurs over the possibility of replacing Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked on Friday. The Dane now looks set to take the job in N17.

The 51-year-old must now choose whether or not to let the club captain leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

Tottenham’s Son Heung-min receives Saudi Pro League approach

Son Heung-min has received an approach to join the Saudi Pro League this summer, according to Foot Mercato.

Reports suggest that Tottenham are open to Son leaving and will not stand in the 32-year-old’s way should he decide to leave.

The South Korean international would leave on the ultimate high having lifted the North London club’s first major trophy in 17 years and first European trophy in 41 years.

Al-Hilal are the club from the Middle East who have joined the race to sign Son after failing to agree a deal to sign Victor Osimhen.

Tottenham have started plans to replace Son with Eberechi Eze becoming one of their top summer transfer targets.

Spurs are already well-stocked at left wing now with players like Wilson Odobert, Richarlison, Mikey Moore and potentially Mathys Tel.

Tel could sign permanently for Tottenham, and talks over a permanent deal are well underway with Bayern Munich. The Lilywhites are hoping to pay around £33.5m to land him.

What Son Heung-min said about leaving Tottenham for Saudi Pro League

Son has previously been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia; however, at the time, he explained how he continues to enjoy playing in the Premier League.

The Tottenham captain admitted that money is important, but he felt he still had plenty to prove and that he did as he helped Spurs to lift the Europa League trophy. He also managed an impressive 11 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.

Last summer, Son told the media: “If I wanted to go there, I wouldn’t be here! I love playing football, obviously, money is also important, but I dream of playing Premier League and there’s still lots to get excited about.

“I’m looking forward to this season, especially after last season when I suffered physically and getting back to the Sonny we all know. The Premier League is still an amazing dream to play in.”
