Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with interest in Real Madrid’s Rodrygo for weeks and the Spanish media continues to name them as his contender.
The forward has been an unused substitute in four of seven games, and came off the bench twice, since Xabi Alonso arrived at Real Madrid. The manager has favoured others ahead of the 24-year-old.
Thursday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo states ‘The Rodyrgo case remains alive’ and it needs to be seen where he’ll play beyond this summer window.
It’s claimed Real Madrid’s desire is to retain him, but if he were to ask for a move, they won’t stop him.
Although he’s been linked to several clubs, Los Blancos haven’t received any offers. The newspaper reports Tottenham are the only club to have approached Real Madrid. A move to Manchester City would depend on Savinho, pursued by Spurs, leaving the Etihad.
Thursday’s edition of AS reports the Brazil international is starting to lose prominence at Real Madrid, and the newspaper talks up Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool as his potential suitors.
Defensa Central have gone a step ahead and have a detailed report focusing on the north London club’s interest in Rodrygo.
It’s claimed Liverpool and Arsenal are focusing on other targets, while Manchester City haven’t made progress. This leaves Thomas Frank’s side as the only option and they are said to be keen.
The report states Real Madrid would look favourably on loan move as long as Tottenham cover his full salary. The two clubs are said to be considering whether or not to include a purchase option.
Real Madrid have realised no European club is ready to offer €100m and are therefore considering a loan move.
The outlet makes no mention whether Rodrygo is willing to move to London. He may have to decide soon as his situation is unlikely to improve at Real Madrid.
Claims from Brazil on Wednesday also talked up a move to the Premier League.
