Spence named in England World Cup squad

The defender, who has four caps for his country, is set to go to his first senior international tournament after being named in Thomas Tuchel’s final 26-player squad for this summer’s tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Djed, who made his England debut in September as a second-half substitute in a 5-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Serbia, is one of nine defenders on the plane to North America.

England, who are in Group L, start their campaign with a clash against Luka Vuskovic’s Croatia on Wednesday, 17 June, before facing Ghana six days later. The Three Lions’ final group game will be against Panama on Saturday, 27 June.
