Tottenham have seen a €40m offer for Como star Nico Paz rejected and been told to offer another €20m just to get negotiations underway.
That’s according to Gianluca di Marzio, who reports that Tottenham attempted a €40m move for Paz but were rejected outright.
According to his information Como received and rejected a €40m offer from Tottenham for the Argentine attacking midfielder.
The Italian side value the player at €70m, a price they have also put on Assane Diao. Therefore, it would take at least €60m to begin negotiations over a transfer this summer.
Tottenham appear to be on the hunt for a new number ten after James Maddison was confirmed to have suffered a cruciate ligament injury in pre-season. That is expected to see him miss 6-7 months minimum.
Spurs had previously moved for Morgan Gibbs-White but were rebuffed by Nottingham Forest, who then convinced him to sign a new deal at the club and end any chance of a move to Tottenham.
It seems they need at least €20m more to even convince Como to speak about Paz, though, with their initial offer rejected outright.
