The Sky Blues spent 34 years in English football's top flight until they suffered relegation in the 2000/01 season. They dropped all the way down to League Two in 2016/17, but have fought their way back and finally returned to the Premier League when Frank Lampard led them to the Championship title last term.

So, the last time we faced Coventry in the Premier League was in March, 2001 - that's where we start as we look back at our last five meetings...

Spurs 3-0 Coventry City

Our last meeting in the Premier League saw us take control with headers from Steffen Iversen and Les Ferdinand in the first half, following a lively start from the visitors. Ledley King then released Sergei Rebrov to clip past Chris Kirkland and home for 3-0 on the hour.

Spurs: Sullivan, Young, Perry, Campbell, Freund, Clemence, King, Ferdinand, Iversen, Rebrov, Doherty. Substitutes (not used): Walker, Korsten, Etherington, Davies, Gardner.

Coventry City 0-2 Spurs

Les Ferdinand was on target again as we beat the Sky Blues in the third round of the FA Cup in January, 2002. We opened the scoring on 23 minutes when Simon Davies crossed for Gus Poyet to power home. We made it 2-0 after 52 minutes when Gary Breen deflected Darren Anderton's cross onto the post and Les reacted first to send us into the fourth round. We eventually reached the quarter-finals, knocked out by Chelsea.

Spurs: Sullivan, King, Richards, Perry, Davies, Taricco, Sherwood, Poyet, Anderton (Leonhardsen 80), Ferdinand (Iversen 73), Rebrov.

Substitutes (not used): Keller, Etherington, Gardner.

Coventry City 0-3 Spurs

Back at his former club, Robbie Keane ran the show in this League Cup, second round tie at Highfield Road. Keano set up Fredi Kanoute for the opener on 13 minutes before doubling our lead 10 minutes later. Rohan Ricketts scored a fine solo goal to wrap it up five minutes from time. We eventually lost in the fifth round on penalties against Middlesbrough.

Spurs: Keller, Carr, Richards, Gardner, Taricco, Bunjevcevic, Anderton, Poyet, Blondel (Ricketts 62), Keane (Postiga, 79), Kanoute. Substitutes (not used): Burch, Doherty, Dalmat.

Spurs 3-0 Coventry City

Gareth Bale and Clint Dempsey did the damage in this FA Cup fourth round tie at the Lane. Dempsey latched onto Bale's flick from a free-kick to open the scoring on 14 minutes before a quickfire double put the tie out of reach. First, Bale converted from close range after Dempsey's shot fell into his path, then Dempsey headed home his second for 3-0 to wrap it all up before half-time. We lost at Leeds in the fourth round.

Spurs: Friedel, Naughton, Caulker, Dawson, Assou-Ekotto, Sigurdsson (Carroll 80), Huddlestone, Parker (Dembele 80), Bale (Townsend 71), Adebayor, Dempsey. Substitutes (not used): Lloris, Vertonghen, Lennon, Defoe.

Coventry City 1-2 Spurs

Our most recent match, and we looked down and out in this third round tie at the Ricoh until a late, late rescue act from Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson. Coventry impressed and deserved their lead on the hour through Brandon-Thomas Asante. With just two minutes remaining, Djed poked home from Deki Kulusevski's pass and then, deep into added time, Brennan dinked home over Ben Watson for the win. In the season we won the UEFA Europa League, we also progressed to the semi-finals of the League Cup, losing out to Liverpool.

Spurs: Forster, Gray, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie (Spence 46(, Bentancur, Sarr, Bergvall (Maddison 62), Odobert (Johnson 18), Solanke (Son 62), Werner (Kulusevski 74). Substitutes (not used): Vicario, Reguilon, Porro, Moore.
