The results of a survey have been shared over which team Wolves fans will be supporting in tonight’s Europa League final between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
The two Premier League clubs are doing battle in Bilbao this evening, with both clubs looking to end their sorry seasons in the best possible way.
United and Spurs have been languishing at the wrong end of the table, and are both below Wolves going into the final day this Sunday.
But Wolves’ defeat against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night means both clubs, and also West Ham United, still have a chance to finish above Wanderers.
But before that it’s the Europa League, which is a competition Wolves have hopes of returning to after dipping their toe in it back in the 2019/20 season.
For now though, fans will have to contend with watching it – and a survey has now suggested which side Wolves fans will be rooting for.
Overwhelming majority of Wolves fans will ‘support’ Tottenham over Manchester United in Europa League final
The Athletic have run an interesting article this morning about tonight’s Europa League final.
Undoubtedly, it’s a game that has huge interest in it, because both Ange Postecoglou and Ruben Amorim are under major pressure following the seasons they’ve had.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
The Athletic polled fans from every Premier League club asking which team they’d ‘support’ in tonight’s final, and have now published their findings.
They make for very interesting reading.
Of the Wolves fans that were polled, 95.7% said they would support Tottenham.
That is the third highest percentage in favour of Spurs, after Everton fans (100%) and Liverpool (95.9%). It is even higher than Manchester City (89.1%).
Matheus Cunha to Man United may be a reason
Of course at the moment, there is heavy speculation that Manchester United will sign Matheus Cunha this summer, and this may be a big reason why most Wolves fans will be backing Spurs tonight.
Cunha has been linked with Wolves for a while now, and earlier this week there were more developments and it now seems only a matter of time until he joins them.
It was claimed United expected to agree personal terms with Cunha at some point this week.
Cunha is said to be keen to join United regardless of whether they win tonight’s Europa League final or not.
For a lot of Wolves fans, the Cunha to United saga has been extremely frustrating and distracting in recent weeks, and many at this point can’t wait for it to be over.
