After finishing 17th in the Premier League last season, Tottenham have got off to an incredible start this year.
Indeed, Spurs have taken six points from two games under Thomas Frank, and things appear to be looking up in north London.
Frank has turned things around at Spurs very quickly, and speaking on the Football Daily Podcast, Theo Walcott has singled out one player in particular for praise.
Walcott says that he’s noticed a big change in Richarlison as of late, claiming that he’s now working harder than he ever did before.
Richarlison was criticised heavily in the past for Spurs, but now, he’s found a new lease of life.
Theo Walcott has noticed Richarlison difference at Tottenham
Walcott spoke about Richarlison and how he’s already changed under Thomas Frank this season.
The pundit says that Richarlison has been a frustrating player in the past, but, now, he’s noticed he’s working harder than ever before.
“I played with Richarlison and at times he could frustrate the hell out of you. He really could because he’s a kind of player who’s a slight maverick in the team, but the big change in him, he’s working his socks off and it starts from the front. It always tends to start from the front,” Walcott said.
“I think someone like Thomas Frank, he just gets the best out of individuals and then brings those individuals together.”
Richarlison’s record alongside Theo Walcott
Walcott knows Richarlison better than most. After all, these two played together quite a lot at Everton.
Indeed, while Richarlison and Walcott certainly feel like players from different eras, they were actually teammates at Everton for quite some time.
As Walcott says, Richarlison could be frustrating as a player, but he did have a decent record alongside the winger at Everton.
